Bags

Indigenous women  of the Ecuadorian Andes are well known for weaving Shigras, using a natural material that gives its name to the product. The shigra is obtained from the leaf of the cabuya plant, similar to a cactus, which is split into strands and after appropriate treatment, braided to form a comfortable and sturdy colored basket. These baskets are the main material and starting point of all the bag designs.
